Amil Sarsour, from Safad, Palestine, whose family left their home city of Safad in 1948. Amil was born in the camps in a refugee camp in Syria in 1956. Amil shows me copies of original land deeds and property documents. The originals are kept with his brother in Berlin and in a safe. Amil did not want me to photograph the paper unless i covered up the deed numbers, warning me that the Israelis could copy the numbers and create fake deeds to claim that his family had legally sold their lands, something the Israelis he claims have frequently done.
